This website is owned and operated by Sapphire Youth Development Center, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Dacula, GA with locations throughout Georgia.

Sapphire YDC is committed to protecting the privacy of our visitors and our clients. This privacy policy discloses how we collect, protect, and use information online. By using the pages on this site, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

If our policy practices change in the future, we will let you know by posting the policy changes with a modification date on this page. However, we will treat all personal information we collect (if any) in accordance with the privacy notice in effect at the time the information is collected.

Sapphire YDC’s online properties comprise of, but are not limited to, all pages found under , http://www.sapphireyouthdevelopmentcenter.org/ including our online blog and our destination sites, such as our social media accounts (facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc…).

As used in this Privacy Policy, “Personal Identifiable Information” can include the information provided to us on applications, response forms and online donations. Your personally identifiable information will be used to contact you, if necessary, in response to your inquiries.

We do not sell, share, or intentionally make your personally identifiable information available to third parties or the general public. We do not collect personally identifiable information from individuals unless they provide it to us voluntarily and knowingly. This means we do not require you to register or provide information to us in order to view our website.

Data collected through voluntary submission is used solely by Sapphire YDC, or by secure vendors (Paypal,Square, Charity/Go Fund Me) who process the data for donations. We do not sell information you provide to us online to third party service providers. We will only share personally identifiable information with third parties when:

1. The person submitting the information authorizes us to share it.

2. Sharing the information is a necessary operation of the site, for instance, to process a credit card transaction/donation.

3. We are required to by law.

Sapphire YDC chooses only vendors who have stringent privacy and security policies, however, Trinity has no control over, or responsibility for the data collection and use practices of third parties that process online transactions.

Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) protects the personal information of children under the age of 13. This applies to individually identifiable information about a child that is collected online, such as full name, home address, email address, telephone number or any other information that would allow someone to identify or contact the child. The Act also covers other types of information—for example, hobbies, interests and information collected through cookies or other types of tracking mechanisms—when they are tied to individually identifiable information. It is important for you to understand this law; we encourage you to read more about COPPA.

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA as we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website and destination sites are all directed to people who are at least 13 year old or older. We are dedicated to safeguarding any personal information collected online and to helping everyone have a positive experience on the Internet. Consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without prior verifiable parental consent.

Parents/guardians can revoke their consent and ask that information (if any) about their children to be deleted by contacting our offices at info@shapphireYDC.org. To do this, or to review personal information collected from children, we must verify the identity of the requesting parent. When a parent revokes consent, we will stop collecting, using, or disclosing information from that child (if any has been collected). To respect the privacy of parents/guardians, information collected and used for the sole purpose of obtaining verifiable parental consent or providing notice is not maintained in retrievable form by the site if parental consent is not obtained after a reasonable time.

Sapphire YDC believes it is good policy not to knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. In addition, be aware that all sites that are targeted to children under 13 are prohibited by law from collecting more information than they need.

Use of Cookies

Visitors should be aware that non-personal information and data may be automatically collected by the Trinity Youth Services website through the use of “cookies.” “Cookies” are small text files a website can use to recognize repeat visitors, facilitate the visitor’s ongoing access to and use of the site, and allow a website to track usage behavior and compile aggregate data that will allow content improvements. Cookies are not programs that come onto a visitor’s system and damage files. Generally, cookies work by assigning a unique number to the visitor that has no meaning outside the assigning site. Trinity Youth Services utilizes “cookie” technology only to obtain non-personal information from its online visitors in order to improve visitors’ online experience and facilitate their visit within our site.

In addition, we may also use third-party service providers to serve ads (such as Google Ads) when you visit our website. These companies may use non-personally identifiable information (that is, not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other destination sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you on this or other destination sites.

We have no responsibility for linked websites and provide these links solely for the convenience and information of our visitors. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our website and welcome any feedback about these third party links via our email.

Our Security Safeguard

The safety and security of your online experience is of the utmost concern to us. We ensure the appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures are in place to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the information we collect online (if any).

Credit Card Safety

Protecting the safety of your credit card information is also important to us. Our agency uses vendors that use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to protect the security of your credit card information as it is transmitted to us. SSL is the industry standard in Internet encryption technology, which is a highly sophisticated method of scrambling data as it travels from your computer to our website servers. Credit card numbers are also encrypted when our third party vendors store your donation/other information and whenever we transfer that information to other participating merchants.

To make sure you are accessing our secure server before you submit personal financial information, look at the lower left-hand corner of your browser. If you see an unbroken key or a closed lock (depending upon your browser), then SSL is active. Or you can also double-check for security by looking at the URL or Address line of your browser. If you have accessed a secure server, the first characters of the address in that line should change from “http” to “https.”

After a transaction/online donation, your private information will not be stored on our servers as mentioned above our agency uses a third party service provider using SSL technology.

For your protection against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

If you are under 18, you need parent/guardian permission to use a credit card to make purchases/donations online.

Code of Conduct for Volunteers

The purpose of the Code of Conduct for Volunteers is to set out standards of behaviour expected from volunteers of Sapphire Youth Development Center. All volunteers should ensure that they have read and comply with this Code of Conduct.

Volunteers should maintain the highest standards of behaviour in the performance of their duties by:

• Fulfilling their role as outlined in their written volunteer role description to a satisfactory standard;
• Performing their volunteer role to the best of their ability in a safe, efficient and competent way;
• Following the charity's policies and procedures as well as any instructions or directions reasonably given to them;
• Acting honestly, responsibly and with integrity;
• Treating others with fairness, equality, dignity and respect;
• Raising concerns about possible wrongdoing witnessed by the volunteer in the course of the volunteer's role with Sapphire Youth Development Center with [insert details/title of appropriate member of personnel];
• Meeting time and task commitments and providing sufficient notice when they will not be available so that alternative arrangements can be made;
• Acting in a way that is in line with the purpose and values of the charity and that enhances the work of the charity;
• Communicating respectfully and honestly at all times;
• Observing safety procedures, including any obligations concerning the safety, health and welfare of other people in line with training provided to volunteers;
• Reporting any health and safety concerns;
• Directing any questions regarding Sapphire Youth Development Center's policies, procedures, support or supervision to the volunteer's supervisor;
• Addressing any issues or difficulties about any aspect of their role or how they are managed in line with Sapphire Youth Development Center's grievance procedures;
• Declaring any interests that may conflict with their role or the work of the charity (e.g. business interests or employment). If any doubt arises as to what constitutes a conflict of interest, volunteers may seek guidance from [insert details/title of appropriate member of charity's personnel];
• Keeping confidential matters confidential;
• Exercising caution and care with any documents, material or devices, containing confidential information and at the end of their involvement with Sapphire Youth Development Center returning any such documents, material in their possession;
• Seeking authorisation before communicating externally on behalf of Sapphire Youth Development Center;
• Maintaining an appropriate standard of dress and personal hygiene;
• Disclosing the fact that they have been charged with, or convicted of a criminal offence by prosecuting authorities (or given the benefit of the Probation of Offenders Act 1907 as amended) to [insert details/title of appropriate member of charity's personnel]. For the avoidance of doubt, volunteers are not required to disclose the fact or details of 'spent convictions' under the Criminal Justice (Spent Convictions and Certain Disclosures) Act 2016 (as amended) to Sapphire Youth Development Center.

Volunteers are expected NOT to:

• Bring the charity into disrepute (including through the use of email, social media and other internet sites, engaging with media etc.);
• Seek or accept any gifts, rewards, benefits or hospitality in the course of their role;
• Engage in any activity that may cause physical or mental harm or distress to another person (such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, assault, bullying, or discrimination or harassment on the grounds of gender, civil status, family status, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, race or membership of the Traveller community);
• Be affected by alcohol, drugs, or medication which will affect their abilities to carry out their duties and responsibilities while volunteering;
• Provide a false or misleading statement, declaration, document, record or claim in respect of Sapphire Youth Development Center, its volunteers, employees or charity trustees;
• Engage in any activity that may damage property;
• Take unauthorised possession of property that does not belong to them.
• Engage in illegal activity while carrying out their role.
• Improperly disclose, during or after their involvement with [charity name] ends, confidential information gained in the course of their role with Sapphire Youth Development Center.

Where a volunteer is found to be in breach of the standards outlined in this Code of Conduct or any of Sapphire Youth Development Center's other policies and procedures this may result in the volunteer's position being terminated. Notwithstanding the foregoing, volunteers should note that [insert Charity's name] may terminate a volunteer's position without cause.

Volunteers acknowledge that no employment relationship is created in the context of their role with Sapphire Youth Development Center.

The board of charity trustees will review the Code of Conduct for Volunteers at [3]-year intervals or as appropriate. The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that this policy is implemented effectively. All other staff and volunteers, including charity trustees, are expected to facilitate this process.
